A fabulous George III period mahogany chest on chest
Description
A fabulous George III period mahogany chest on chest with secretaire drawer. The upper section has carved swan-neck pediment and carved cartouche followed by fretwork and detailed molding. The upper section of the chest on chest has three small oak-lined drawers and two graduated drawers above fitted secretaire drawers. The fitted drawers have carved brackets, pigeonholes and mahogany-lined drawers with an unusual centered compartment that rolls out to reveal secret drawers. The upper section has canted blind front covers. The lower section has brushing slide and three additional graduated oak-lined drawers. The chest on chest stands on shaped bracket feet and had original fire gilt rococo hardware.
