An unusual, simple 18th century brass wax-jack

Description
An unusual, simple 18th century brass wax-jack. Tapersticks were used to light the wax coiled round the wax-jack, which then dripped on to the letter to be sealed. The wax taper was pulled up and held between the two arms. When it was used up, a new wax "snake" was installed by unscrewing the finial at the top and removing the arms, when the wax taper was dropped on to he stem of the wax-jack.
