Pair of Chippendale period Armchairs with Period Needlework
An exceptional pair of George II mahogany Chippendale period armchairs have seats covered in period needlework. The chairs are an excellent examples of where rococo and gothic tastes are successfully combined. The backs have a waisted splat, interlaced with foliated scrolls and carved and created toprail. The wrapover seats are generously proportioned and supported on square legs with decorative beading on the outside edges.
