Pair of Chippendale Period Mahogany Side Chairs

A pair of early George III Chippendale period mahogany side chairs having an elaborate carved back splats with outlines of a bell, Gothic ornaments, and acanthus scrolls. The classical and Gothic blend together in a way that the finest eighteenth century furniture designers managed successfully to bring the designs together in order not to detract from the tour de fource. The rest of the chairs are realized on the clean cut grandeur. The chairs are standing on four chamfered legs with “H” stretchers.
