Chippendale Period Pie-Crust Tripod Table
A mid-18th century Chippendale period mahogany carved “Pie Crust” Tripod Table. The circular piecrust tilt top of beautifully figured mahogany with soft gadrooned edge. The top pivots on a simple turned column base retaining its original fire gilt lock. The table base of three cabriole legs with carved acanthus leaf to the knees ending in a claw & ball foot. The table is constructed out of dense mahogany timber and retains its original patination and rich colour.
