Elegant George III mahogany tea chest
A wonderful example of a canted corner, antique tea caddy, with its superb colour and patination. Veneered in Harewood and having boxwood fluted canted corners. The fan inlay paterae on the front and a conch shell on the top, the rest of the sides are inlaid in burr yew with a simple bone escutcheon. This gorgeous tea caddy has two lids, each replicating the sides with bone handles. The interior still has traces of its original lining.
